Hana – The 20th Annual East Maui Taro Festival returns from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and continues from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Hana Ball Park, in Hana. Admission is free. The event features food booths, farmers market, poi pounding, arts and crafts, cultural demonstrations such as poi-pounding, Konane tournament, information tent and all-day Hawaiian music and hula. Sundays events begins with the taro pancake breakfast at Hana Bay sponsored by the Hana Business Council, followed by a the Kahanu Garden Tours at 11 a.m. and ending with the Kapahu Living Farm Lo‘i Excursion hosted by Kipahului ‘Ohana and Haleakala National Park at 2 p.m. This year’s event is dedicated to Pekelo Cosma.
