KAHULUI - Cymry Pico drove in three runs for the Maui High School softball team in a 13-10 win over Kamehameha Maui on Wednesday in the first round of the Maui Interscholastic League Division I tournament at Patsy Mink Field.
Every player in the Sabers' lineup reached base at least once. Liana Tanaka, Brooke Jordan, Samantha Fenton, Nia Bailey and Michaela Bulger each had two hits. Bailey scored three runs.
Maui High (2-11) will face Lahainaluna today in the semifinal round.
Ulu Young had three hits for the Warriors (2-11), who scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning - Aulii Pokini had a three-run double.
Pokini finished with four RBIs. Kalei Kubota drove in two runs and scored twice, and Madison Vaught and Kaui Uwekoolani each had two hits.
