KAHULUI - Maui Mall is encouraging Maui County teachers to nominate one student a month who stands out in academics and character to be recognized at Maui Mall Family Sundays events.
Selected students will receive Maui Mall gift certificates and be entered to win an iPod or iPad at each event, starting April 29. Students who are chosen from April through November also will be entered in a cumulative drawing for a chance to win a MacBook Pro at the finale event Jan. 6.
Teachers are asked to nominate students who have demonstrated strengths in academic work, Hawaii State Assessment or TerraNova test scores, awards, potential for success and contributions to class, peers or community.

The monthly Family Sundays event includes educational-themed hands-on workshops, activities, exhibits, entertainment and games and prize giveaways.
