Yaeko Umetsu, 90, passed away April 13, 2012 at Kula Hospital. She was born on August 17, 1921 in Kaupakalua to parents Taisuke and Hatsu Hanzawa.
Yaeko worked at Pukalani Superette for over 40 years.
She is survived by daughters Lynette (Robert) Viela, Pamela, son Michael (Juli), sister Margaret Hanzawa, grandchildren Pamela (Gary) Miyagawa, Kendall and Carter Umetsu and great-granddaughter Mahie Miyagawa.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenichi, brothers Toshiaki, Toshio, Donald and Walter Hanzawa.
Private services were held by the family. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with the arrangements.
