GRAMBLING, La. - The University of Hawaii baseball team rallied from five runs down and beat Grambling State 11-8 on Tuesday.
The Rainbows trailed 5-0 after one inning, but went in front to stay with a six-run third - they had six hits in the inning, all singles.
Stephen Ventimilia was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for UH (24-16).
After Rainbows starting pitcher Corey MacDonald allowed three runs without getting an out, Jon Flinn (1-1) took over, and permitted two runs over five innings.
Kyle Dowdy pitched one shutout inning to record his third save.
Brian Knuckles homered for the Tigers (15-15). Pervis Mann (1-2) took the loss.
Hawaii begins a three-game series at Louisiana Tech on Thursday.
