I would like to express my concern in regard to the Hana boat ramp that has gone through some major construction. The project looks fabulous and is appreciated by many, but there is a problem which now exists, placing fishermen going out or coming in on their boats in a very dangerous position.
The removal of the rock wall, which once kept the strong surging waters from breaking, is now funneled into a confined area of the boat ramp where the water now reaches greater heights, creating boats to sway heavily. As a safety precaution, corrective measures must be taken into serious consideration before the project is completed.
I urge those in charge of the designing of the boat ramp to come and see for themselves. It could prevent us from spending more money in the future if we had to go back and redo it.
