Jose "Papa Joe" Corpuz Ilar, 89, of Kahului, passed away on April 16, 2012 in Kahului. He was born on April 17, 1922 in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Ballard Family Mortuary, services at 6 p.m. with cremation to follow.
"Papa Joe" was a fisherman, farmer, builder, cook, and a retired tractor operator from Hawaiian Cane and Sugar Company.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Ilar; sons, Jose S. A. (Vanessa) Ilar, and Jonathan A. Ilar; adopted son, Teodoro B. Ilar; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Nathan A. Ilar.
