Bertram Russel, the English mathematician and philosopher, observed that man hates to think. What better evidence is there for that assertion than the current trend in America to let radio and TV hosts do their thinking for them? People are so proud of being brainwashed by these shock-jocks that they refer to themselves as "Ditto Heads."
Cleon Skousen was dead, buried and forgotten until Glenn Beck, another know-it-all TV and radio talk show host, started singing Skousen's praises.
Skousen's daughter is the head of a school that teaches her father's writings. An April 25 letter writer suggested that if people want to know about the Tea Party's conservative ideas, they should take that course. I'm going to pass on that offer. I know enough about Skousen's ideas to be able to dismiss them as nonsensical and dangerous.
