Larsen knocked out in Nike Pro round of 16
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. - Granger Larsen reached the round of 16 before being eliminated from the Nike Lowers Pro surfing contest on Friday at Lower Trestles.
Larsen had a score of 16.47 - Dane Reynolds of California won the heat with a 18.63.
With three rounds remaining, Larsen has the sixth-best heat score of the event, an 18.43 in the round of 24. His best wave of that heat, worth 9.50 points, is 10th-best in the event.

Maui Style Wrestling tournament moved
WAILUKU - Today's Maui Style Wrestling tournament has been moved from Maui High School to Baldwin.
Weigh-ins for menehune (ages 5-6) and bantam (7-8) divisions will finish at 9 a.m. Weigh-ins for midget (9-10), novice (11-12), schoolboy (13-14) and high school (15-18) divisions will end at 11 a.m.

WAILUKU - Baldwin High School cheerleading tryouts will begin Monday.
Practices are scheduled for 3:15-5 p.m., and participants should wear shorts, a T-shirt and gym shoes, with hair up, and bring water. A physical examination and other waivers and consent forms are required before participating.

Maui Cheer Babes to begin season Monday
KAHULUI - The Maui Cheer Babes will begin their next season on Monday.
Clinics at the team's gym at 180 Wakea Ave. are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays in May - from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for youths ages 3-7, and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for youths ages 8-12. No experience is necessary. Participants should wear a comfortable shirt and elastic-waist shorts, and bring water.
The fee for May is $50.

Tryouts set for Warrior Elite Allstars Cheer
WAILUKU - The Warrior Elite Allstars Cheer team will conduct open tryouts later this month at the team's gym at 850 Kolu St.
Tryouts for youths 5-8 are scheduled for 4-5 p.m. on May 14. Tryouts for youths 9-12 are scheduled for 4-6 p.m. on May 15 and tryouts for youths 13-18, born after Aug. 1, 1993, are scheduled for 4-6 p.m. on May 16. The fee is $10 per person for the youngest group, and $15 for all others. Participants should wear appropriate cheer attire, with hair away from face and neck and no jewelry.
Everyone who comes to tryouts will be placed on a team according to ability and skill level.
A parent informational meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on May 11.

HSDS fundraiser to be held at Flatbread
PAIA - The Hawaii State Dressage Society will conduct a fundraiser from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Flatbread Pizza Company.
A portion of the sales from pizza will be donated, and a silent auction is also scheduled. Donations are being sought for the auction.
