I rented a car for a week and had dinner at a restaurant in Paia. I parked in the public parking lot just below the Shell service station. When returning to the car after dinner, I noticed that someone had vandalized the car by kicking in all four doors.
I grew up in Paia and things like this would never have happened. You knew everyone and respected one another's property.
I took the car back to the rental company to have the damage noted and got a replacement car. Paia has really changed.
