Green Party convention set for Saturday
The Green Party of Hawai'i will hold its party convention Saturday on the Big Island after completing a petition driving and winning the right to be on election ballots this year, according to an announcement.
The convention will begin at 1 p.m. at the Hawaiian Acres Community Center. Party members will elect representatives to the party's national convention July 12 to 15 in Baltimore.
Couch files as candidate for re-election
* On the Campaign Trail is a public service for candidates to publicize fundraisers, public appearances and other campaign-related events. Announcements must be submitted at least one week in advance of the event and should include a contact name and number. WAILUKU - Maui County Council Member Don Couch has filed as an official candidate for re-election.
As of Tuesday, he was unopposed for his South Maui residency seat. Couch serves as the council's Planning Committee chairman and as General Plan Committee vice chairman.
"It has been an honor to serve the community," he said in an announcement.
