Plastic bags all over Hawaii have been a huge problem. One of the best things that happened was the law that banned plastic bags in stores on Maui.
I have seen such a huge improvement in the landscape, especially by the dump. They put up a huge net that catches and prevents the bags from destroying the island's beauty. Before the net was put up, I would always see trash of all kind flying all around, getting stuck in kiawe trees, mostly. It was horrible, it made me disgusted to look at it.
The other islands should also go through with this no-plastic-bags law because it has done wonders for Maui. I no longer see trash everywhere. Actually, I hardly see trash or plastic bags at all.
