Melvin Sadao Kushiyama, 64, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on May 13, 2012, at Aloha Nursing Home in Kaneohe, Oahu.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am on May 24, 2012 at Nakamura Mortuary with services at 10 am. Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Maui Memorial Park. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Kushiyama was born on October 4, 1947, in Wailuku.
He worked at First Hawaiian Bank and Hawaii Protective Association.
He is survived by his wife, Gail M. Kushiyama, sons Layne S. Kushiyama and Cory T. Kushiyama; brothers Glenn (Irene) Kushiyama, Neal (Lori) Kushiyama; sister Kay (Edwin) Tesoro; and loving nieces.
Mel was a foodie at heart. He loved visiting different and unique restaurants.
