KAILUA-KONA - Mokulele Airlines will be flying out of the Kapalua West Maui Airport for the first time in three years beginning July 1.
The airline that was purchased by TransPac Aviation Holdings in late 2011 will have four flights daily between the west side and Oahu.
"As we expand our fleet, we will continue connecting the dots in Hawaii," says Mokulele Chief Executive Officer Ron Hansen. "The new flights will provide customers with additional options when traveling to and from Maui at affordable prices."
West Maui hotel officials were pleased to hear of the resumption of flights out of the west side.
"The added lift from Honolulu to Kapalua will be valuable as we head into the busy summer season," said Michael Jokovich, general manager of Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. "It will provide our guests with a convenient alternative to flying into Kahului and additional access for visitors to enjoy all that Kaanapali has to offer."
Flights from Kapalua to Honolulu with departure and arrival times follow: Flight 1781, 11:28 a.m.,12:10 p.m.; Flight 1783, 3:23 p.m., 4:05 p.m.
Flights from Honolulu to Kapalua follow: Flight 1780, 10:25 a.m., 11:07 a.m.; Flight 1782, 2:20 p.m., 3:02 p.m.
The airline will be using its Cessna Grand Caravan nine-seat aircraft.
Fares will be as low as $59.97 based on availability, a news release about the flights said.

Mokulele flies between Maui, Oahu, the Big Island, Lanai and Molokai with 46 flights daily.
