Empanadas prepared for 43rd annual Barrio Fiesta

FIRST PHOTO: Rachel Banggo helps prepare dough Friday to make as many as 700 empanadas in the Valley Isle Church of Christ food booth before the opening of the 43rd annual Barrio Fiesta at the War Memorial Complex soccer field. The deep-fried Filipino delicacy contains a filling of pork, raisins, onions, carrots and peas. The fiesta began Friday and continues through 10 p.m. today.
