Government broken on the county level

May 27, 2012
The Maui News

Broken government? Sure there is, even on the county level.

What the county will not tell me, in my opinion, is that there is a system of bias where complaints were filed against a property owner for the sole purpose of defending my property rights. Inspectors said that there would be no fines because there were too many violations. Humbug.

Now the property continues to stack violations on top of violations.

When a property's tenants attach a tarp from their property directly onto an adjacent property and rent a tent while partying outside my bedroom window, I most certainly have the right to complain.

It would certainly be nice for the county employees to start doing their job without bias or political influences.

This is the sugarcoated version of what has actually transpired.
