SAN ANTONIO - Two men with Maui ties, Justin M. Shields and Kawika M. Kekaualua, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The men completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Shields is a 2011 graduate of Lahainaluna High School. He is the son of Morgan Shields of Lahaina.
Kekaualua is a 2012 graduate of Kamehameha Schools Hawaii. He is the son of Pualani Crawford of Keaau and Heath-Hudson Kekaualua of Makawao.
