Several people have recently defended the Maui Visitors Bureau's multimillion dollar budget by comparing the amount spent to the amount of money tourists bring to the island. They are assuming a cause and effect, but I have not seen one bit of evidence of proof this is true.
I suspect tourists who can afford to come to Maui have already heard of Maui. Keep up the fight against wasting money.
