HONOLULU - Funds for improvements to a softball field at Molokai High School and the construction of two portables at Lahaina Intermediate School are part of $26.8 million released by the governor for capital improvement projects at school facilities statewide.
Molokai High School received $171,207 to reconfigure ballfields to allow both boys baseball and girls softball to play on them, a news release from Gov. Neil Abercrombie's office said May 24.
The money will be used for bleachers, a scoreboard, restrooms and the construction of an accessible route to the field.
Lahaina Intermediate School will get $86,500 for two portables. The structures are expected to be completed in July 2013.
