The long-awaited Paia School cafeteria is taking shape as carpenters from Breen Builders work on its roof supports Thursday morning. The $3.1 million project is expected to be completed in December, according to state Department of Education officials. The cafeteria was destroyed in a 2005 fire. The new building also includes a stage area and can be used as an auditorium. The architect is Design Partners, and the contractor is Breen Builders.
