Noneza records fourth hole-in-one

KIHEI - Patrick Noneza of Kahului made his fourth lifetime hole-in-one on Sunday at Elleair Maui Golf Club.

Noneza, an employee at Elleair, aced the 133-yard 17th hole using an 8-iron.

The shot was witnessed by Abner Nakihei, Galen Miyamoto and Mario Chajon.

Maui Women's Golf Invitational on Aug. 4

WAILUKU - The 58th annual Maui Women's Golf Invitational is scheduled for Aug. 4-5.

The tournament will be held at Kahili Golf Course on Aug. 4 and at the King Kamehameha Golf Club on Aug. 5. The shotgun start both days is at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast, and an awards luncheon will follow the final round.

The entry fee is $165. and the deadline to enter is July 9. All proceeds will benefit the Maui Food Bank. A food drive will be held Aug. 4 at Kahili, and a silent auction will be held Aug. 5 at the awards luncheon at King Kamehameha.

Applications are available at golf courses and golf shops throughout the island, as well as online at hswga.net.

All-comers track meet scheduled for Friday

WAILUKU - The first of three Valley Isle Road Runners all-comers track and field meets will be held Friday at Yamamoto Track & Field Facility starting at 5 p.m.

The free event is open to all ages and abilities. Events include long jump, high jump and hurdles, and 100-, 200-, 400-, 800- and 1,500-meter events. Field events will start first.

Volunteers are also needed.

Registration open for youth basketball league

KIHEI - The South Maui Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration from all individuals and teams interested in playing in its 15-and-under or 17-and-under basketball leagues.

Spaces are limited. League play is tentatively scheduled to start at the end of the month.

Registration forms are available at the parks office at 303 E. Lipoa St.
