The Maui News Community pages are published every Wednesday. We welcome written news releases about your Maui County schools, organizations, nonprofit agencies, family and friends, and community events. If you want to submit an item, the deadline is noon Monday to be considered for the Wednesday issue. Earlier is better. Make sure to include a contact name and telephone number.
To submit material, go to The Maui News Web site at www.mauinews.com and click on the Virtual Newsroom box. Look for Community in the left margin, then click on Submit Community News: Virtual Newsroom.

Photographs may be submitted. In using a picture, editors consider news value, the quality of the picture (for example, focus and contrast), and the amount of space available in the newspaper. Generally, there should be no more than five people in a group picture. Photographs marked for return may be picked up from The Maui News receptionist after publication. They will not be returned by mail. The Maui News is not responsible for any photo left unclaimed two weeks after publication.
