KAHULUI - Firefighters Gavin Fujioka, Patrick Fukuda and Kaleo Kealoha have been promoted from the rank of firefighter I to firefighter III.
Fujioka, a seven-year Maui Fire Department veteran, spent most of his career at the Paia Fire Station, except for two months at the Hoolehua Fire Station on Molokai. He is assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau.
Fukuda, a 10-year veteran, served three years at the Hana Fire Station and seven years at the Paia Fire Station. He is assigned to the Health and Safety Bureau.

Kealoha, a 10-year veteran, served nine years at the Wailea Fire Station and one year at the Kahului Fire Station. He will be assigned to the Hoolehua Fire Station when his promotion takes effect Saturday.
The promotions for Fukuda and Fujioka took effect May 16.
