Family receives a fresh batch of bulbs

June 13, 2012
The Maui News

Cadets from the Civil Air Patrol Kihei Composite Squadron accept a bag of 56 incandescent light bulbs from Iao Valley resident Geri Duarte on Saturday afternoon in front of Whole Foods in Kahului. Geri and her husband, Joseph, collected the bulbs from their home and also from their children and grandchildren. The cadets made it a good trade for the Duartes, giving them 56 new energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulbs for free. Shown are Cadet Lianda Lonergan (from right), Cadet Brendan Geffe, Cadet Airman 1st Class Rachel Nguyen, Cadet Airman Mark Galiza and Cadet Staff Sgt. Ryan Ramil. The cadets said that they had collected more than 600 incandescent bulbs.
