Mieko Fujimoto, 85, of Lanai City, died peacefully on June 5, 2012, under hospice care at her daughter's home in Kahului, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be on June 23, 2012, 9:00am, at Lanai Union Church, with services at 10:00am. Burial will be at Lanai Cemetery, 11:00am.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Fujimoto was born in Lanai City, HI on November 2, 1926.
She was a retired Housing Supervisor for Castle and Cooke.
She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Clarence Kalena Fujimoto.
She is survived by her daughters Lynne (Dennis) Alvarez, Lu Ann Fujimoto; brother Terao (Naomi) Nakamura; sister Fusae Yoshikawa; sister-in-law Jane (Takeshi) Nakamura; grandchildren Gena (Jon Cabebe) Alvarez, Rhonda Alvarez, Michelle (Mark) Arruiza; 10 great-grandchildren.
Mieko was an active member of the Lanai senior citizens community who loved baking, fishing, cleaning her yard, listening to Hawaiian music, dancing hula and traveling to Las Vegas.
