Heads up, Maui. The law passed. Maui Electric Co. and Hawaiian Electric Co. customers will pay for a cable from Lanai to Oahu - $1 billion to $2 billion - to supply Oahu with 5 percent of its power and destroy one-third of Lanai.
Oahu's grid is so old it can't handle the power produced by the windmills planned. All for union jobs.
