KULA -- A wind-fanned fire that damaged three homes in Kula was 90 percent contained this morning, a fire official said.
The fire, reported at 12:09 p.m. Monday, burned about 6 acres, at one point leading to the evacuation of some residents of Hapapa Road. Residents were allowed to return beginning at 6 p.m. Monday when the fire was declared 60 percent contained.
Fire crews, who worked through the night, were continuing to monitor hot spots in the fire today.
