Tony Lilly, 94, of Kula, HI, died June 5, 2012 at his home.
Private services will be held. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Capt. Lilly was born December 28, 1917 in Marysville, CA, and raised in Kentucky.
He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1941. During a 30-year career, he served in three wars - WWII, Korea and Vietnam - and commanded five ships and Destroyer Squadron 25. In 1970, he became Harbormaster of Maui County.
He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Pemberton-Walker.
He is survived by sons Michael A. (Cindy) Lilly, Anthony (Nancy) Lilly; daughters Sheila (Sol) Zaretsky, Maile (Warren) Arnold; 11grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
Capt. Lilly was a highly decorated veteran, including the Purple Heart for wounds during the Battle of Surigao Strait, Legion of Merit with Gold Star, and Bronze Star with Combat "V" for Inchon.
