Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar at the Kihei Town Center continues to be on a forward roll.
"What is really selling at Sansei Kihei right now is sushi," says owner-chef and founder DK Kodama, who runs Sansei in Kapalua and numerous other popular restaurants on three islands.
"One of our really hot sushi specials is the Dragonfly roll, which is an inside out spicy tuna roll, topped with ahi sashimi and avocado served with a Thai chili aioli and an unagi glaze. Contemporary sushi like this is what separates us from many of the other island restaurants and we work hard to keep the momentum moving forward."

One of Sansei's main focuses right now is to support local farmers and fishermen more than ever before.
"As an example, we look to feature three to five fish specials every night," Kodama says. Sushi is really about freshness of fish. But we also offer many cooked entrees on our menu."
For instance, dive into fresh catch of the day over Kula greens with spicy umeboshi (Japanese plum) vinaigrette. Or the grilled fresh Hawaiian ahi and the award-winning Asian shrimp cake with ginger-lime-chili butter and cilantro pesto.
Even meat lovers may sink their teeth into chili-porcini mushroom crusted filet of beef tenderloin, choice rib eye steak and grilled misoyaki prawns; and ginger-and-hoisin smoked duck breast.
Signature award winners are mango and crab hand roll, calamari salad, and shrimp dynamite.
"Since day one, we've looked to serve good food, good enough that people want to come back to join us, and often. We also strive to provide good value."
While Sansei Kihei is open for dinner from 5:30 to 10 p.m. nightly, it takes on a mind of its own when karaoke kicks in from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Sip some chilled sake, wine or beer, belt out your favorite tunes, laugh out loud and make some new friends or hook up with some tried and trues.
