Cool Congregations! workshop June 30

A Cool Congregations! workshop, co-sponsored by Hawaii Interfaith Power & Light and the Renewable Energy Task Group of the Episcopal Diocese, will discuss the faith-based importance of climate change and environmental stewardship from 1 to 5 p.m. June 30 at Iao Congregational Church.

The workshop will discuss energy consumption and provide resources on ways households and faith community buildings and campuses can reduce their energy use and carbon footprint.

Information and advice for churches considering photovoltaic energy systems will be provided.

Hawaii Interfaith Power & Light is a program of the Interfaith Council of Hawaii.

The registration fee is $25 per congregation up to three representatives. Checks should be made out to Interfaith Alliance Hawaii-HIPL. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.

Participants are asked to complete a carbon footprint survey of their household's energy use prior to the training.
