State junior championships at stake in Kaanapali

June 23, 2012
The Maui News
Bianca Armanini of Wailuku hits an approach shot on the Kaanapali Kai Course’s 17th hole during Friday’s first round of the Aloha Section Junior PGA Championship. Armanini carded a 74, leaving her tied for third place in the girls 13-18 division with Marissa Uradomo of Kula and Oahu’s Hansol Koo. Oahu’s Mariel Galdiano, who played in last year’s U.S. Women’s Open as a 13-year-old, led with a 66. Makawao’s Joy Callinan and Oahu’s Millburn Ho shared the girls 7-10 lead after rounds of 80. The other leaders were from Oahu — Moanalua High School student John Oda (65), who last month won the state prep title, in boys 13-18, Evan Kawai (75) in boys 11-12, Jacob Torres (77) in boys 8-10 and Aneka Seumanutafa (76) in girls 11-12.
