WAIKAPU - The Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy hosted its Diamond Ball on June 9 at the Kahili Golf Course in Waikapu. The evening featured dinner, ballroom and Latin dancing, and videos of past dance team and solo performances.
Award-winning ballroom and Latin dance professional Rita O'Connor treated guests with an impromptu dance to "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack.
Later in the evening, Mayor Alan Arakawa addressed guests and danced a waltz with O'Connor, while his wife, Ann Arakawa, danced with Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy co-founder Brian O'Connor.
