Waves big enough for fun

June 27, 2012
The Maui News
Recent St. Anthony Junior Senior High School graduate Morgan DuPont takes to the air at Makena’s Oneloa Beach on Tuesday afternoon. DuPont said the surf at what’s also known as Big Beach wasn’t as big as he would like, but he and his friends still seemed to be having a good time. National Weather Service forecasters predict breezy conditions today and Thursday, with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers in windward and mauka areas and party cloudy skies and isolated showers leeward. High temperatures should range from 82 to 87 degrees, with overnight lows of 70 to 75. Trade winds should blow from 15 to 25 mph today.
