Kicking off from 1 to 5 p.m. today, the artist in residence at Maui Hands gallery in the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali will be artist Carmen Gardner.
Since arriving on Maui in 1981, Gardner's artistic journey has led her through 10 years as a popular radio personality, when she explored her love of music. The next decade she spent as an actor and a director, including a summer at the Royal National Theatre in England, where she studied with Sir Ian McKellan and other British masters. And now, she has come back to her first love: painting.
Gardner is now honored to be sharing the adventure with the many Maui masters who make the Valley Isle their home. She hopes her art reflects the spirit of the islands
