'NARNIA' MAPA'S TEEN SUMMER MUSICAL

Step through the wardrobe into the enchanting world of Narnia as the talented young performers of MAPA's Teen Summer Musical Theatre Camp bring C.S. Lewis' classic story to life. Tonight's opening at 7:30 is sold out. Performances are at the Steppingstone Playhouse in Queen Ka'ahumanu Center. Tickets are $14 adults and $10 students. '40S 'HOLLYWOOD SWING CANTEEN'

A 1940s themed evening of sizzling song and dance, featuring the styles of USO, swing, big band and Hollywood glam is happening at the Maui Tropical Plantation at 7:30 p.m. Get dressed up...vintage military, pin-up, and red carpet glam attire is appropriate. HULIAU YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL

Huliau Youth Environmental Film Festival concludes tonight at 7:30 at the Seabury Hall Performing Arts Center (please use the gym entrance off Meha Road). The event is hosted by the Maui Huliau Foundation and showcases seven short environmental films made by Maui students ages 12 to 18 including documentaries, educational fiction and claymation films. WEDNESDAY, JULY 4

4TH OF JULY FUN IN LAHAINA

A flag-draped Front Street will again take on a festive air July 4 with the island's only community fireworks display, music at the library lawn and Campbell Park, keiki games and appearances by Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty. Fourth of July fireworks is sponsored by the West Side Committee of the Maui Chamber of Commerce that raised funds from more than 60 restaurants, merchants, excursion companies, hotels, the county and individuals. Slack Key master George Kahumoku, Jr., the Maui Community Band and the University of Hawaii Maui Campus Institute of Hawaiian Music will perform beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the lawn facing the harbor. The Lahainatown Action Committee will offer music and games across the street from Pioneer Inn at Campbell Park between 5 p.m. and the start of fireworks.
