I am writing in response to "Unskilled or unlicensed hunters are a concern" (Letters, June 21). I totally concur with the letter writers' opinion that safety considerations and ethics should be paramount for hunters.
However, I do take issue with comment: "We are concerned that there are unskilled hunters without a license who do not know safe hunting protocol." Those people are not hunters; they are poachers who have little or no regard for the law. Please do not lump them in with the majority of responsible hunters and firearms owners. We do not condone or support their irresponsible actions in any way.
