Painting project on the side

George Balberdi reaches to paint the sign above the Kahului Burger King’s drive-through lane Saturday morning. Balberdi said that the painting project was a side job on his day off from his real job. “Actually, I am a breakfast cook at the Makena Beach and Golf Resort,” Balberdi said. Balberdi said he has been with the resort for 28 years.
