Foundations and entities who contributed recently to Maui County community nonprofits and others are as follows:
* Wailea Community Association General Manager Bud Pikrone presented checks totaling more than $4,500 to Marlene Rice, development director for the Maui Food Bank. Funds were raised through Wailea Resort's Restaurant Week Wailea promotion.
"Each participating restaurant agreed to make a contribution to the Maui Food Bank for every prix-fixe entree sold during Restaurant Week Wailea," said Pikrone. "The response has been an overwhelming success not just for the restaurants but the local community, visitors and of course the Maui Food Bank."
