Copter lifts kayaker in distress to safety
The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a kayaker in distress off the northwest coast of Molokai on Saturday night.
The Coast Guard received a call about a kayak getting swamped with water, while another kayak was being swept out to sea.
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Barbers Point on Oahu located one of the kayakers and lifted him into the aircraft.
The other three kayakers were located safely onshore by Maui County police.

Crews report to and tow a capsized boat
Fire crews from Lahaina and Napili responded to a report of a capsized boat about 200 yards offshore in Honokohau Bay on Sunday afternoon.
The four male occupants of the boat, which was reported overturned at 2:29 p.m., were safe and did not require medical attention according to Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
Fire officials on a personal watercraft towed the 25-foot fishing boat into the bay, where it was turned upright, bailed and anchored.

Waikapu brush fire quickly extinguished
Fire crews from Kahului quickly extinguished a brush fire Sunday on Waiko Road near the Waiale Road intersection in Waikapu.
The fire, which was reported at 2 p.m., was under control at 2:16 p.m. and extinguished at 2:52 p.m., according to Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
The fire burned about an acre of dry brush south of Waiko Road. No structures were threatened and no monetary damage was reported. The cause was not determined.
