WAILUKU - The Japanese Cultural Society of Maui and Maui's Sons and Daughters of the Nisei Veterans will host two screenings of the film "Go for Broke-Memories of Hawai'i Japanese Nisei" this week.
The first screening will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Maui Beach Hotel. A $10 donation will be accepted at the door.
The second screening will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kahului Hongwanji Temple. Admission is $20 and includes lunch. Seating is limited; only those who have purchased tickets in advance will be admitted.
The film's producer, Hiroyuki Matsumoto, will be in attendance at both screenings, which are part of a series that will also be taking Matsumoto to the Big Island and Oahu. Ten Maui nisei veterans are included in this 98-minute film. Proceeds from both screenings will be benefit Kansha Preschool.

In addition, the public is invited to a dedication of a rock feature at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kepaniwai Park.
