Vacation Bible School begins Monday
Calvary Chapel South Maui Vacation Bible School will be held 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday.
The free program is for children in kindergarten to 6th grade.
Youths may wear camouflage or Army clothes. Toy guns and weapons should not be brought to the Bible school.
There will be games and Bible stories about the armor of God.

'One Hit From Home' to be shown in Kihei
"One Hit From Home" is being featured at Movie Night at Calvary Chapel South Maui at 6 p.m. July 21.
The movie plot is about a baseball superstar forced into an unexpected direction in life when he is injured.
There will be free child care.
Tickets are $5 at the door. Snacks and dinner, which range in prices from $1 to $5, will be available to purchase.

Kahului obon festival begins July 20
Kahului Hongwanji Mission will be holding its obon festival July 20 and 21.
Obon is a time for families, friends and the community to join together and pay respect to their ancestors, the news release about the event said.
Hatsubon services begin at 6:30 p.m. both days. Hatsubon is a memorial service for family members and friends of church members who have passed away since the last obon.
After the services, there will be special dance performances at 7:30 p.m. by Ryukyu Matsuri Daiko on the first day and Maui Minyo Kai on the second day.
Dancing will follow at 7:45 p.m.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase beginning at 5:30 p.m.
