Cultivating a fertile place to learn

July 14, 2012
The Maui News
Longtime Kahului Elementary School custodian Clifford Prais uses a mattock to dislodge a nasty weed from a crack in a sidewalk fronting the school Thursday afternoon. Prais said that he has been working in education for 29 years, starting at Kihei Elementary School and then transferring to Kahului Elementary School. “Just getting ready for school to start,” he said. “The kids are really nice over here. Every day they work hard.” Classes are scheduled to start July 30 for grades 1-5 at the school.
