John Bak, 91, of Pukalani, died on July 10, 2012, at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 18, at 10:30am, with services at 11:00. Inurnment will follow at 2:00pm, at Maui Memorial Park.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Bak was born in Makena, HI on February 21, 1921. He was a payroll clerk for Maui Land and Pineapple Company.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Jeannine Bak.
He is survived by his son Lee (Mindy) Bak; daughter Ruth (Del) Shimandle; sisters Jennie Ito, Rose Quindica, Vicki Keawekane, Lillian Haina, Shirley Streck; grandchildren Simone Bak, Antone Bak, Caleb Bak, Emma Bak, Ian Shimandle, Josiah Shimandle.
John loved playing golf. He was generous, kind, honest, and had a very strong faith. He was the treasurer for Emanuel Lutheran Church for 40 years, and climbed coconut trees, and hunted opi'i until well into his 80's. He will be missed.
