Applications to attend the Special Fair Day from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 28 are available. All applications must be received by Hale Mahaolu by 4 p.m. Aug. 20.
The Special Fair Day is reserved primarily for those who are mobility impaired and those with disabilities who are not able to attend the Maui Fair during its regular operating hours. Transportation, rides, games, entertainment, lunch and refreshments are offered free of charge to the physically and mentally challenged members of the community.
Maui is the only island that hosts such an event, and it is made possible by the Maui Fair Association, Hale Mahaolu, other nonprofit agencies and donations from businesses and community organizations. Donations are welcome and volunteers are needed.
All special guests, assistants and volunteers must apply before the deadline in order to attend. A pass will be required to enter the event.
