Italian club to host wine tasting seminar
KIHEI - Ali Biglar, owner of Hawaii Liquor Superstore in Kahului, will be the guest speaker at an Italian American Social Club meeting Tuesday at Theresa's Stawasz Hall in Kihei.
The meeting will begin with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., followed by an Italian wine tasting seminar with Biglar at 7 p.m.
The cost for the wine tasting is $10 per person.

Talk to focus on systems of government
KAHULUI - Willis H.A. Moore will present a talk titled "Parliamentary (UK) vs. Presidential (USA) Models for Governance" during a Cerebral Cafe gathering from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Hawaii Maui College Class Act restaurant.
Moore will incorporate portions of a DVD produced by the BBC about Queen Elizabeth II and the British monarchy. He will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the U.S., British and Canadian systems of governance.
There is a $20 cost, which includes a three-course lunch.

Youth entrepreneurs to set up shop
KAHULUI - Queen Ka'ahumanu Center will host a business showcase featuring the winners of the recent Kids Inc. contest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the mall.
Participants will create items from scratch, offer a service or resell a product purchased from a wholesaler. The following businesses will set up shop: BFFF by friends, for friends; Camry's Lolli Cakes; Create A Creature; Cupcakes!; DiS N DaT; Kai Nani Jewelry; Lemonade Rocks!; Rebecca's Healthy Sweet Treats; Sweet Scents; and Sweet Snax & Tings by Tees.
"We are excited to put kids in business and offer this opportunity to budding retail entrepreneurs," said Lisa Paulson, Queen Ka'ahumanu Center marketing manager. "Allowing kids to sell their products or services in a retail environment will give them a real taste of what it takes to run a business. We're looking forward to hosting these 'merchants of the future.' "

St. Ann Church to hold rummage sale
WAIHEE - St. Ann Church will hold a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will also be baked goods, chili and rice, pancit and more for sale.
