KAANAPALI - A 3-year-old boy was taken to the Maui Memorial Medical Center on Sunday afternoon after he was initially found unconscious in a pool at the Westin Maui, fire officials said.
Bystanders were able to perform CPR on the boy until he regained consciousness, said Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
The Lahaina Ladder Company responded to the call, received at 4:53 p.m.
The boy was conscious and breathing when taken to the hospital. A swimmer found the boy in the pool unconscious and the mother advised that he was underwater for approximately one minute. The boy and his family, Maui residents, were staying at the resort, Mainaga said.
