Friends of the D.T. Fleming Arboretum at Pu'u Mahoe (FOFA) hosted a rock wall construction workshop in June. The free workshop was taught by Paul Rice, also known as "Rock Man," shown above arranging large rocks using an 'o'o (metal pry bar) and small rocks for leverage, as assistant Mike DePonte looks on. Participants learned the basics of building dry stack stone wall while watching one being built at the Fleming Arboretum.
