Students earn gold and silver medals at National Leadership Conference

Student members of the Hawaii Association of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) earned honors at the organization's National Leadership Conference held July 8 to 12 in Orlando, Fla.

Sarina Kong of Kamehameha Schools Maui won a gold medal in the Job Interview event; Maricar Daoang and Austin Davis of Maui High School won silver medals in the Chapter Service Project Display event; Emmanuel Tabbay of Maui High School won silver in the Illustrated Talk event; and Acacia Amano of Lahainaluna won silver in the Culinary Arts event.

The conference theme was "Reality Check," and included STAR event competitions, youth workshops, guest speakers, and exhibits by students and vendors.
