In honor of Swiss Independence Day, Brigit & Bernard's Garden Cafe in Kahului will serve a buffet with Switzerland's favorite dishes from Wednesday through Aug. 3 starting at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Cost for the all-you-can-eat affair is $38 per person.
Authentic yodeling as well as oompah favorites and traditional jazz will be featured by Lisa Owen and the Dorf Musikanten/Village Musicians.
Come prepared for a yodeling contest and to flap your wings in the Chicken Dance. Sit inside or out and enjoy the fun.
"Swiss trivia will also be played, so you better check on how many Wimbledons Roger Federer has won," says owner-chef Bernard Weber.
Popular dishes include risotto Ticinese, creamy carrot soup, air cured beef, Swiss lasagne and Swiss raclette (melted cheese) and bratwurst. The latter two items may be bought separately.
