Maui youth recognized at iPOP! national convention

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Three Maui youths took honors at the iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) National Convention held July 1 to 5 in Los Angeles.

Cameron Henry, 4, earned the following eight awards in the 4-to-8-year-old division: first place for Winning Smile; first runner-up for Best Monologue; second runner-up for Commercial Print; third runner-up for TV Beauty Commercial; and Top 10 Honorable Mention awards for Actor of the Year, Scene (acting), Swimsuit Runway and Headshot. Henry is the son of Thad and Sandy Henry of Kaanapali.

Lia Delizo, 9, earned first place in the 9-to-12-year-old division for Winning Smile. Delizo is the daughter of Renee Delizo of Wailuku.

Alyssa Hudson, 16, earned the following Top 10 Honorable Mention awards in the 16-to-18-year-old division: Fashion Print, Swimsuit,

Runway and Model of the Year. Hudson is the daughter of Todd and Kathy Hudson of Kihei.

iPop! is a biannual event in which children, teenagers and young adults compete in the categories of acting, modeling, dancing and/or singing. Contestants were judged by entertainment representatives.
